When coming on a Cycle Retreats experience with us, it’s not all about cycling and relaxing by the pool. During our rest days we do offer you the opportunity to enjoy the local surroundings and take in the local offerings.

Sports Massage – The Singing Ciclista

If you are looking for something a little more relaxing for your rest day then we can provide for you a relaxing and recuperating sports massage at the Retreat. She can work on muscle recovery, race prep, post event and injuries. Perfect for us and our guests, she specialises in triathletes and cyclists.

Yoga – Yogalistic

A great way to relax and unwind after a couple of days of being in the saddle; a spot of yoga. As part of your retreat, we have already included one hour of yoga, however if you would like additional time, then our instructor Dionne can be booked and sessions can be had at the Retreat.

Local Attractions

Cueva De Las Calaveras

Cueva De Las Calaveras, which translated means “Cave of the Skulls”, is 440m of an extensive network of prehistoric caves. The caves has been there for over 150 million years,once inhabited by man in the paleolithic period and has long since served as storage or shelter for humans ever since. In more recent history it was once used as a munitions store for the Spanish Civil War in 1936.

Mountain Biking – Snakebite

If you simply can’t resist the saddle for your rest day and you fancy trying something a little different then we can offer you a day out Mountain Biking guided by Snakebite. The trails are through vineyards, gravel tracks and rock climbs, and can provide a fun alternative for road bikers!

Retail Therapy – Portal de la Marina

If peace and tranquility is not really your thing and you need a bit of retail therapy while you are with us, then fortunately the local town of Ondara has 90,000 square metres of designer shops, stalls, restaurants and fashion outlets.

If you’re a shopaholic, this will probably satisfy your cravings reasonably well.

Horse Riding – Hipica Ondara

Fancy a different type of saddle during your rest day? How about trying your hand at a bit of horse riding?

An English father and daughter team own a local stables where they provide horse riding lessons from beginner to advanced levels. All their horses are well looked after and many of them are rescue horses.
