Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does payment work?

To secure the booking we ask all riders to pay a 20% deposit of the full value of the booking. The full balance is due 60 days before your arrival date. Any bookings made within 60 days of arrival; payment in full is required.

  • I've booked, what happens now?

Once you are confirmed on a Retreat we will send you your Retreat Pack which will have all the information and advice you need.  There is also a bike hire form with the various options available and we will be here to advise and assist you.  It will help if you can return this form to us as soon as possible so we can get the ball rolling in plenty of time.

  • What date does your season start each year?

We’re open every week from October to May, this allows you to escape the winter chills and travel to paradise.

  • What is the duration of your holidays

We offer two different types of holidays; 4 and 7 night Holidays.

  • How fit do I need to be?

Our trips are physically demanding and we support every rider to challenge themselves on the bike. Mark has given his own personal opinion on how fit you need to be for our retreats in his blog post. Typically we ride between 75 – 120 kilometres each day. We are not a training camp and are focused on you having a challenging yet relaxed holiday.  We rate each route in terms of difficulty so you can see if it is for you (see the routes page).  For group bookings, we can create a bespoke cycling itinerary to ensure you get the best out of your time with us.

  • Can I bring my own bike?

You’re welcome to bring your own bike or we can arrange the hire of a bike for you, which will be ready for you at the Retreat. Please give us plenty of notice if you do wish to hire a bike so that we can get the right size.  If you forward your bike fit measurements we will ensure our bike mechanics set up you bike just as you like it.

  • What should I pack?

Once you are confirmed on a Retreat we will send you your Retreat Pack which will have all the information and advice you need together with typical weather conditions. Typically you will need to bring with you 2 sets of cycling kit.

  • What happens if I have any problem when cycling?

Every ride will be accompanied by a guide and mechanic with an on call support vehicle so you can get assistance fast and easy if you need it. All guides are first aid trained and can offer you assistance including morale boosting chats or scouting out the best café stops.  We are here to ensure you have the perfect ride every single day.

  • Do I need health and travel insurance?

Whilst we take every precaution to ensure that your stay with us is safe, we do require all riders to take out travel insurance which covers recreational cycling.  We can assist you in this and recommend Velosure insurance.

  • How to I get from the airport to the Villa?

We will arrange transport from the airport to the Villa both on arrival and departure.

  • Who will I be cycling with

The rides will be a group ride; with us as your guides.  You’ll get your own space at the end of the day before coming together for the evening meal.

  • Are there any "off the bike" activities?

During the rest day, you’re free to explore one of the many routes we have available or look to do an alternative activity which we can arrange for you; such as local wine tasting, cave rafting or simply relax at the Retreat and enjoy a massage.

  • Can non-riders attend?

The Retreat is geared for riders but there are other activities that we can recommend for non rider partners to do while we’re out on the rides during the day
