Group bookings (6-8 riders) have the facility to bespoke their cycling itinerary and chose the routes for the week with our help and advice to ensure you get the most out of your time at Cycle Retreats.
Here is an example of some of the routes that await you…
The perfect start to your cycling holiday 50km of rolling smooth roads to flush out the legs from your earlier flight.
We ride across to Orba before dropping down into the Xalo valley which is simply breathtaking passing through one of my favourite villages the beautiful village of Lliber before heading over to Gata and back to the Retreat. This ride is to spin the legs out and make sure your bike set up is 100% and ready for the week.
Coll de Rates
We head out into the Xalo valley to warm the legs up before heading towards probably one of the more well know and famous climbs in Costa Blanca, Coll De Rates. the views from this climb are spectacular. The roads are quiet and you will be lucky to see another car as we head over to Castell De Castells from Tabena….. one of my favourite sections of tarmac you really feel isolated …. just you and the road….. Perfect!
Elevation climbed: +6,874 ft / -6,874 ft
Val D Ebo
This route takes in the iconic Vall De Ebo often you see the pros riding this and once up it you will know why….. it is simply and beautiful climb; tree lined sections, switch backs, beautiful views it has it all. Once up and over Ebo we head out to Tollos before dropping back down on some wonderful sweeping descents to Castell De Castells before heading through the valley back to Retreat, a breathtaking finish to the ride.
Elevation climbed: +5,746 ft / -5,746 ft
This is a beautiful ride, one you will not forget!
Heading out along the Xalo valley floor through the almond and olive groves to Castell de Castells, the climbing starts here as ride up through Tollos and Benimassot, the views are spectacular, the roads quiet and smooth as we turn and climb up to Confrides and over to Guadalest. The piercing blue waters has to be seen to believe it.
We stop for a well-deserved lunch before descending for 20km before the final climb back up to Coll de Rates from the southern side, this climb is long and steady… one to be savored, before dropping back down onto the home stretch. An awesome day cycling.
